I use snap weights with planer boards, but have not used a bb. I don.t see any reason to as once the pb is attached you will not be able to feel bottom and have no way to adjust depth without bringing in the board.
why not just use snap weights to get the depth you want ?

We use them all of the time without any problems.

I do it from time to time when the bouncer bite is really hot, I do keep them really close to the boat so I can see them getting whacked by junk fish and do it mostly when it's calmer on the water so I can detect the junk fish (I'm an erie troller) I'll often run this on my inside rods next to the bouncers rods being ran off the boat on a 6 rod spread then inline weights on the outside rods. Doing this works and works well, give it a shot. I've also ran up to 3 oz.

we use it on little bay all the time. Good way to catch suspended fish without having to take weight off every time you real in.

I use them on boards up to 3 oz after that the board really "diggs down"........When I use them on boards, I need to be very close to the bottom or on it, its usually 3/4 oz

Guys do it all the time. If you are trolling a flat it is very easy. If you are trolling and you are hitting different depths then not as productive.

We let th bouncer out as if we are normally fishing it in a rod holder and then we just attach the board and send er out.

I learned something new here, I would have never tried a BB with a planer board but I see where you guys are doing it with success so I am going to give it a try.
never to old to learn new things

The only problem I see with BB's and inline boards is that you have to let the board out slowly so that the bottom bouncer doesn't just fall over and lay on bottom. If you do that on water with zebra's or moss, you'll wish you hadn't. This is why I think BB's are more fit for boat rods or mast/boards operations where the rig is always moving. Having said that though, we take the same amount of care when letting out any weighted rig where the desired depth is 'near bottom' (snaps, inlines, etc), not doing so will make for a long day of picking up zebra mussels.
