Am I missing something? are these the Storm hot n tots?
$8 each? Cabalas $3.49 for 1/2 ounce/3". I will stand corrected if wrong.
drigger, the ones your referring to must be the new ones because Cabelas returned their stock of the old (no longer produced) lures. At least that's what I was told.
However, if you look hard enough you can still find some in the small little shops out there and once in awhile even in the bigger ones. I was just recently told that most of the Walmarts down south have alot of them leftover and they are mostly found in the bargain bins.
$8 ea is a steep price in my mind, but I guess supply and demand has alot to do with it.

Please do not insult us , if you want to sell something , buy some advertising space .
This is a forum to share information and advise fellow fisherman of wisdom you have learned .
We may not always agree , and that is OK , but this is not the place to sell .

Why pay 8 bucks for an obsolete lure? I fish Lake Erie and have not used a HotnTot since early 90's. I have no problem catching enough for the freezer without them. Walleyes are tired of seeing the same old lure time and time again. Try something new! I think guys are getting carried away with this old metal lip verses new plastic lip.

there is no such thing as an obsolete lure, An obsolete presentation of the lure?--Maybe. I suppose you think the spinner should be considered obsolete.

03-23-2002, 04:22 PM
Old stuff, you will think we are getting carried away with this plastic lip stuff when one of those plastic lips break off and comes off from the body of the bait and away goes your tournament winning fish.

Well if plastic lips break off then there are a sh#thouse pile of other brand lures with plastic lips! Are there any other lures made with metal lips that you use?

Cisco kids, older rapala 90"s pre shadraps?.... Ringing many bells on that. Nothing in the right hands will become obsolete, possibly an ace in the hole. Luhrjensen......spoon plugs...........Another company will pick up the lure style but right now Rapala is a dog growling over his bone....grrrr..new or else..grrr...

I must say that I've done very well on other bait's,and never did so good on Tot's that I'd pay alot for them. I'll switch to the one's that work, and are still made the same.Rapala.What's the fuss?Wally Diver's.Amen.

The swap board is a good place to exchange product for money .
What next will you post in General Disc for sale ? River front property ? Or maybe fish whistles ?
Why do you think there are different forums ? General , Boats , Fishing , and Swap ?

just bought 147 hot&tots at dicks sporting goods at 2.98 each. That kind of makes your 8.00 apiece a rip off (BUYER BEWARE)

If you think they are obsolete, you should check out my father-in-law's tackle box. He's got maybe 50 cranks in there and half of them are metallic yellow/black back hot'n'tots. He catches everything with them , pike, and walleyes mostly though. I've got about 15 myself. When they aren't biting anything else, chances are they'll bite the hot'n'tot.

$8.00 does seem pretty steep. The Thundersticks on Ebay arent even going for that much. I went into a Sportmart in the Chicago area this past weekend, and they were still selling Hots for $4.79. Some decent colors too.(firetiger crawdad chartreuse)
