Jann's Netcraft cheaper and you can buy the blanks and get some good hooks for them. if you buy silver or gold ones you can tape them off how you wish also. Go to their site and request a Catalog and youll see.

Are you asking about tying stinger hooks for jigging or about making Stinger Spoons for trolling?

Best Regards,

You can simply tie a piece of line to the bend of the hook. That's one way. With mono you have to check your line fairly often, or once in a while you'll simply break the stinger off due to wear. I'm going to try fireline this year.

Check out the last In-Fisherman too. They have an article on stingers.

I make mine by useing ten pound test.Start by snelling hook to line, then with the other end tie three over hand knots 3 inches from snelled hook. Now form a loop and slide loop into a bobber stop. Pull the slip knot off and pull the tag ends tight over the loop and slide the slip not down to where it's against the over hand knot. Now you just slip it over your jig hook pull on the line and it cinchs right down, to loosen just pull on the cinch not. This makes changeing your stingers to anouther hook very easy and if you put the minnow on first and the stinger on last then while jigging your minnow wont be comeing off all the time. You can buy premade bobber stops at Gander mountain,BASSPRO,Cabellas,Wally world for about 7.00$ a 100. The slip knots also come in different colors, if you tie different sizes of stinger hooks, use,say pink, for one size, and green for anouther...redrnger

i tie mine with 14lb fusion
snell the treble and palomar on a lindy clip to fasten to the extra eye on fireballs or others....
the good thing about this is you can tie about 25 ahead of time and store flat in one of those small accessory boxes and the fusion
doesn't tangle like pretied loose mono rigs...
saves a lot of frustration when your hands are cold...
good luck

Learned this trick a few years back--saves a ton of headaches.

Go to a craft store and pick up some fine guage wire. I keep a spool in my boat. Ya can't tie knots with it, but it wraps real nice. This saves trying to tie two knots with cold hands and a short peice of line. The wire is cheap.

The only draw back that I have seen it is not as flexible as mono.

Neat idea about the wire. How long before the metal fatigues? Any break offs that way?

Not much fatigue if the hook can move freely. Don't have problems with break-offs--usually loose the jig first. If you get the right wire you can clip it off with your clippers or a scissors like fireline.

Here is another way. Tie your hook of choice on your line of choice. Trim to your length of choice. Next, tie on a small split ring and trim off excess ends of line. Go to the hardware store and purchase a can or bottle of the plastic-dip stuff that is used to coat the handles of a screw driver ect. Then dip the split ring end into the plastic-dip stuff and let dry. You may want to thin the plastic-dip stuff and apply 2 coats. This works great. I make mine in 2" and 3" lengths. They work great on jigs and spoons like Sweedish Pimples and Rattle Snakies. The plastic-dip stuff keeps the stingers on the hook and lets you remove them and use them again. Its almost self-healing. If it wears out or tears, scrape it off and re-dip. Good luck!

I beleive it is 32 or 40 guage. It is the really fine wire that they use for making charm/beaded bracelets.

First tie a piece of line to the hook. Then take a small bead and run the line through one end and back through again. Now tie a loop .Cinch the bead to the hook.Hope that helps.
