Does anyone out there have any experience with this rod? I thought I might get it to use for light jigging.
Thanks,
Pete

I have a IMX SJR722 and 721 I use exclusively for jigging. I use the 721 for 1/4 oz and less, and the 722 for 1/4 to 3/8. Simply awesome :)
Regards
I've used a 721 722 glx, awesome jigging rods, but I'd recommend the 721 for "light jigging" depending on your definition of light, I guess... ;)

Great rod! I have both an IMX and GLX of the SJ722.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of the 722 for white bass and walleys. I need something that is a bit heavier than the 721 (which I already have).

Incredible jig rod. I have it in the GLX. Very good at picking up light "ticks"

I use the 721 and 722 more than any other rods in my boat. Awesome rods that can handle 1/32 oz. jig and a ten pound walleye with ease. Have had mine for over ten years and have replace several tips due to ceramic failures, but they surer take a licking and keep on sticking.
Can't think of better rods unless they are hand made from G. Loomis blanks.

I have both the 721 and the 722.I use the 721 most of the time, its my favorite jiggin rod. I had the 722 first and was told by a guide (Jimmy Oberfel on the mississippi) that i should get a 721. Now the 722 feels like a pool cue and I only use it for heavy jigs in current where i have a difficult time staying vertical. regards jim

I have the GL3 sjr 722 I use it for pulling bottom bouncers up to 1/2 ounce. This is a great rod. Highly recommend Gloomis, the 722 has great sensitivity.

I deliberated long and hard between the 721 and the 722 last year. I went with the 722 and am glad I had the extra backbone- caught a 38" muskie on a #5 Shad Rap and a 36" northern on a 3/8 ounce jig last year on vacation, and the rod handled them well. Plus, it's still an ultra sensitive jiggin' stick.
