Whats do you trolling gurus consider the best 8-9 ft rod for flat line trolling braid?

I've used 8' 6" Cabela's Depthmaster planer board rods with no complaints. I recently bought a pair of Scheels 8' 6" trolling rods. I'm very impressed with the Scheels rods, they cost a bit more than the Depthmaster rods but are well worth it. The Cabela's Fish Eagle II trolling series is similar to the Scheels trolling series.

Check out the Walleye Signature Series from Bass Pro Shops. They are listed under their own brand of rods and they call them triggerstiks on the website (weird) or just search "Walleye Signature Series"
THese rods were designed by Gary Parsons and Keith Kavajacz and are great for exactly what you described flat line trolling, or even in line board trolling. I like the 8'6" model myself. They are telescoping too which is nice for fitting in the rod locker.

Scheels makes an incredible line of trolling rods, actually two lines. The Pro Angler is a little less expensive than the Pro Classic. Both work very well. Several sizes are available form 5 feet all the way to 14.

Cabela's TXS trolling rods are my favorites, great actions to match most types of trolling, won't break the bank.

I have the Scheels 'shorty' (5') and the two piece 10 footers Johnnie mentions above. Great rods for the flat line trolling I do (mostly) with braid. And together you can get 4 of them (2 each) in the water without boards.

I bought the cabels depth master 8'6 planer board rods they seem fine for trolling braid, with the lead core they don't show much action any suggestions for a good lead core rod willing to spend a little more for a good set of rods. thanks

Bass Pro shops walleye angler rod is the standard trolling rod that others are judged against.
