A group of guys from work want to take a walleye trip in the middle September. We'll be leaving from the Chicago area. A 5-6 hour drive is the longest we would like to travel. We will also be bringing our own 18.5' boats. Any ideas out there?

Depending on how the walleyes are moving to the west in Lake Erie, you might consider checking out
the Huron/Ruggles Beach area.....though might be a month early (all depending on the water temps).
You could also head north to LBDN.....they have a good night bite.
I'm sure you'll get other suggestions......a lot depends on the August and early Sept weather.
If you go to LBDN, at least you'll have some areas to fish if the wind kicks up.....over at Lake Erie,
if the wind is blowing, you're drinking coffee (don't ask me how I know - ha).
Both areas should be within your drive time requirement.
Good luck,
