Just curious if it is good for walleyes? If so what are the Pro's and Con's of it? And what lb. test would be my best bet?
thanks!

A couple of years ago I used 8 lb Vanish Transition on a spinning reel and liked it.
This year I spooled some 6 lb Vanish Transition on some spinning reels and can't wait to get it off the them!
I don't know if a different formulation than two years ago or because it's 6 lb. Seems every few casts it comes off the reel in twisted clumps.
No, I put it on the reel the right way, I close the bail by hand, and try to keep an eye on the reel to check for loops. Too much of a hassle. I'm going to try Spiderwire Braid on some reels and go back to Trilene XL on the others.
Your mileage may vary.......

I use flourocarbon leaders at times but I don't fill my whole spool with it on my walleye reels. Other lines like mono and copolymers behave better on the spools.
Vanish works just fine, if you use it on a casting reel.
For example for a bottom bouncer, or a rigging application on a casting reel.
Not so good on a spinning reel with the amount of memory that this line has in some lb tests.
Take care

p.s.
Very strong line and excellent for many uses, as long as you can deal with its memory on the right reel.

REW,
would there be a better line you would recommend? i have always used braided line and i really love it but my lake is more of a clear lake, and would like something that wont show up quite as well as braided line. any suggestions? never been much of a mono user.
Nimstug, I had the same experience. Worked great the first year, I really liked it. Seems like it got stiffer and accepts and holds twists no matter how careful you are now. Works great for leaders.

i personally like p-line floroclear or 100% floro. then again, you could always just go with the tried and true trilene XL and a short floro leader.
