Anyone know were I can get a good price on 4 Daiwa SG27LCW Reels?
Time to stop looking and start buying. Still undecided about what
Rods to put them on. I would like to have two rigs for trolling
planners with Mono and two for Long Lineing with FireLine. The GLoomis
940C and 941C Walleye series Rods are sure tempting. Everytime I read through the Posts at WC my mind changes. So Many Rods....to choose from. The SG27LC's are a no Brainer though. I'll get them first.

Thanks
Rick

Can you tell us where you got the reels, and what you paid for them. I could use about 8 of them myself. Thanks JJ

I don't know where to get a good price on the reels. I can tell you that I have 6 of them on Loomis 940c rods and the rods & reels are a great match. The rods are the best board / trolling rods I’ve used. They have the extra fast tip, which transmits everything from the lure. If you have a small bit of weeds on a lure you'll see the tip action change. I can't think of a better choice. Get many opinions though, everyone has different likes and needs.

Rick,
If you are not in a big hurry, you could try E-bay. I picked up 4 new in the box LC27s with the walleye handle for $71.00 each. Those deals don't come around often, but they are on E-bay from time to time.

Thanks I found it. I'd better get on it before Jersey John places his order.

Hey JJ.. give Marion Manor on Oneida Lake a try. They beat anybodys prices I've seen and no sales tax on reservation. They will ship for actual shipping charges rather than raking you on both ends.

Dakotamart was putting these out at $75.00 at the boat shows. www.dakotamart.com they may still do the sale>>>>

Dutch, "Dakotamart" had them for $64.99 at the first show this year by accident. Someone put the 47lc price on the SG27LC reels and they sold them the whole show at that price....needless to say they've taken their grief on that one.

At the last show, they were marked $84 ea. (which is the price they get for em') - which is still a good value If you are looking for reels alone.

However, if you want rod/reel combos, the best deals i've found are at Northview Bait in Sioux Falls as they will combo any rod and are willing to deal.

RickK, anything less than $90.00 is a good deal on those reels. For a trolling rod though, I don't think you need to spend the big bucks. Since you're typically running so much longer lines or out to the boards it is a waste to buy expensive rods. All you need is something with a flexible tip to absorb the shock of fighting fish. Sensitvity is not necessary. Eagle Claw, Ugly Stiks, Lightening rods are what I run and they do it all for me from boards to long lines to downriggers. I use different lengths for different purposes. My .02 cents worth.

Hi Jim..

We will be spending a week up there in July. Will be spending most of the week prefishing for the Amaracan Tournament. Sluggo and his partner have a team(3-4 people) in and I have LYNCHMOB coming to fish with me. Should be a great time, try and get down if you can.
