I have been in your boat (haha) with my Champion Fishunter. Wanted to add some decent speakers too so when my wife comes with me and the kid, she can have some decent sounding tunes. Some times we turn it on, too. I have decided to make some custom boxes for a decent 6x9 speaker that will go under each console. It is a good spot on this particular boat. Won't hear it as good on the front deck as on the back deck, but you can still hear it. The Champion folks I talk to regularly say to be weary of spider cracks in the gelcoat (eventually at best) near and around where all that cutting takes place to mount the speakers. I don't know about you, but I have put some time into keeping her looking nice and taking care of my rig... Cutting all those holes in such a nice boat (your ranger) might not feel so good down the road... just my two cents. Let us know what you decided.

Check my photos, these are the locations for an '07. I had them professionally installed as on the starbord side there are some wires etc that you don't want to cut into. Any installation outfit can do it. It required a hole saw and honestly I didn't want to see that part of the operation LOL.
