I am looking to purchase a 2002 Triton 189 DCF with a 2003 Yamaha 175. It also has a 8 hp Yamaha kicker. I am going to purchase the boat on Tuesday pending a review and test drive. Does anyone have any experience with this boat? I hope to finally get back on the water! I will also be able to add to something to this site besides boat questions.

The 189 was a great boat. it takes big water very well and still fits in
your garage. The only thing I will add is we always ran a merc High Five
23pitch prop. They are a bit sluggish out of the hole, but once they get
going they really move. It is a really nice 19' boat

I have had a Triton 189 since 2000. I have really liked the boat. The storage is great. I carry a ton of equipment to include 24 rods in socks. I have a Merc 175 EFI and top speed at the last tourn. with full load was 58 GPS with a high five. The only thing I disliked was the trailer, I replaced the springs and disk brake system. It was poorly made.
