I'M HAVING TROUBLE DECIDING BETWEEN THESE TWO UNITS. I'VE HEARD POSITIVES ABOUT THE GARMIN AND ITS EASE OF USE. I HAVE NOT HEARD MUCH ABOUT THE LOWRANCE SINCE IT IS NEW. LOOKING FOR ANY INFORMATION WETHER POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE. THANKS

I am making the same decision. How about the Garmin 176? Can you download from an iMac, or does it have to be a PC? Those of you that have a mapping unit, how do you use it to help you fish? Is it that much of an advantage over a plain-jane GPS?
