2003 optimax 135

Bought used boat wiyh 135 optimax 2003, with low hour... Had it running 3 times,But only idle speed! Tried giving it gas, and it spit and spuddered and then killed....and would not start!!! I know the guy probably hasn't used it for about 2 to 3 years...Any ideas what might be wrong with this motor???

Look at the fuel system first, see if it has been gummed up with old fuel. The fuel system may not have been drained of fuel before 2-3 years of storage and no fuel stabilizer is intended to work for that long.
