The guy at Sherwin Williams showed me their all surface enamel and said it is comparable to Rustoleum, has anyone used this paint ? It comes in oil base or latex base.

I wanted to paint my trailer to match the blue on my boat, but Rustoleum doesn't come in the right blue, not even close. Thats why I went to Sherwin Williams to see if they could match the blue on my boat and they can but in this all surface enamel. My only other choice is to paint it white as it is now, but I do not like the white as it shows every single stone chip etc. and tiny rust spots that turn brown from rust.

Should I stay wityh rustoleum and white color or use the sherwin williams stuu in the blue color ? which paint do you guys think will hold up best ?

I went into a different Value Home Center and they had rustoleum in navy blue, it is almost a perfect match to my boat paint. I am going to try a small spot and see hoe close exactly and if its good my trailer will match my boat.

FWIW, look in to the "Professional" line. I know the spray version dries faster, and seems "harder" than the standard.

We use sherwin williams paint every day, that paint will hold up nice and has good gloss, even though it says it doesn't need to use a primer, use a primer like Sherwins Kem Kromic holds very good.

If you are going to paint bare metal, start with a good etching primer which will bite into the bare metal. That way your paint won't start flaking off down the road.
