Going out on Saginaw bay for the first time tomorrow. I have a DNR Boat access sticker so I would prefer to use it, but don't have to. Undersanding that launching nearest the fishing is optimal, I was wondering where is the best place to launch this time of year? Any other advice? THANKS.

I know that the bay city state park has access off of Wilder Rd.
As far as fishing, the latest I heard was Augres and between the spark plug and black hole.
Linwood Beach Marina offers good access and Franks bait and tackle is there as well.
If your going to fish Augres, its best to drive up there to Launch.

fished Au Gres a week ago and did great off of Point Au Gres in about 32 FOW pulling spinners off bouncers. only about 2 miles from dnr boat launch in Au Gres. it is a very good launch.

fished Augres and two miles north of the spark plug on Monday. Most productive was north of the plug in 29'.

Yuppers it looks like Augres has SLOWED down quite a bit....My best quess would be to start somewhere around the plug, Seems like the east side of the plug was getting quite a few fish........

I didnt have much luck. As soon as I launched the wind came up and blew me and my little 16' Sylvan right off the Lake! Thanks for the help though.
How has it been lately? Anyone catching anything of significant size?
