Still looking.... Not finding any mention of payout anywhere!. Is this a secret?
Even in the press release from AIM/Walleyefirst nothing at all. Help me out here,
With the coverage wouldn't you think that payouts would go hand in hand with post tourney coverage???
I also noted as I caught the tail end of the coverage that AIM coverage ended w/o handing out checks.
I post this here because I'll get smoked at WF if I ask a simple question.
Thanks

Green bay looked like a good tournament. Just like always some got them and some didn't. They all fished hard and some fished very good. Sure would be nice to see what they got for their hard earned efforts. Let's hope AIM posts the payouts in the next few days. Gotta wonder why the delay though. Win or place it would be nice to see what it paid.

Of course that is for a full field of which Green Bay did not have.
Wondering

Risto,
Saw that Risto but as you said, was for a full field.
It really is bizarre that their press releases had no mention either just pounds. Never heard of that in any tourney coverage, ever. Payout exposure is a key element in creating excitement for the circuit.
This is definetly not an over sight, wonder what the reasoning is...
What was the deal with the first two days photos of the tent? Was that located in an empty cut grass field?
The only folks I saw in the audience looked to be freinds, family and anglers.
I was busy enjoying the fourth on the final day. Was there actually some sort of festival going on then? Were there more than a couple dozen friends and family under that little tent?

Why the attack on those who ask questions regarding AIM? It would appear that there is an agenda being propagated by some here on W/C to discredit anyone asking questions or commenting regarding AIM. Instead of attacking the credibility of individuals who do ask questions why not simply answer the questions and let the truth speak for itself. While I am not the original poster I too would like to see what the payouts were and how deep into the field AIM paid. By not posting the payouts this silence only fuels unneeded speculation as to why?.
I now have the time and the money to fish the AIM SD tournament. It would be nice to know what one can expect the payouts for SD would realistically to be. My guess is the numbers will be about the same as GB. So why not post the payout information?
Jim Carroll has posted a good deal of information about AIM on W/C in the past. Which many of us including myself appreciate. How about now posting the AIM GB payouts Jim?

Guest,
The payouts are actually over 100%, and are figured out the moment that the field is set, a week before the event. At the rules meeting a payout sheet is given to each pro so that they know the exact amount to be won. Payouts are not a surprise to the contestants like they are with most other tours. I don't have the sheet in front of me, but I know that first was $28,000 in cash and I believe that 14 places were paid. The reason that the payout is over 100% is because of anglers like Chad Schilling and John Butts donating all expenses guided hunts to the field as extra prizes. If you are seriously considering Akaska just give Scott Matheson a call and I'm sure he'll go through the whole amount. We have a board meeting today and I'll bring up the lack of publishing and try to get it corrected. There is no conspiracy to hide anything here, and it's actually a bit frustrating to constantly see a few posters trying to hold a torch to the whole AIM concept as if this organization is trying to hide something. We advertised our percentage payback and in Green Bay actually exceeded it. I will guarantee you one thing. Akaska will be paid at over 100% and the tournament will be one of the best events ever held on Lake Oahe because of this format and the professionalism of the contestants. I've fished tournaments for 25 years and haven't seen fun and excitement on the anglers faces like this since the late 1980's. You will have a blast and it will be well worth the time and money put into the event. I personally had at least 6 different anglers come up to me that weren't competing, but watching the weigh in, tell me that next year they are fishing only in the AIM events, because of the fun and true competitive spirit that is to be experienced. All while being able to represent their own sponsors in all ways. Thanks for the inquiry and hope to see you in South Dakota. If you do fish, please introduce yourself. Have a great day.

Thanks for the reply. You answered the question without answering the question. Hopefully you can get your board to act on this request. How about listing the actual payouts? Dollars and cents? Why the big mystery? Just simply post the actual dollar amounts. What is so difficult about this request? Every other circuit posts the actual payouts. Why all the secrecy with AIM?

Thanks for helping out here Steve. I've been swamped with business since I've returned and hadn't had time to check things out and was going from memory. Guest, we are not hiding anything to anyone! I guess that it's pretty clear that if you want to get information about AIM you need to use their site, or talk to Randy, Scott or Kathy to get the information... not here. This is just like every other tour. The insinuations of this being a secret society are ridiculous, and getting pretty old after 10 months. That being said, we do listen to all suggestions and have made many, many, changes because of good things that anglers (and sponsors) have brought to the table. We are not afraid to correct problems and will continue to do so. Like I said before, I will bring this up to the board and we will correct the issue. If payouts are hard to find on the site we will address that. If you are truly interested in fishing the Akaska event you may want to watch all of the videos, they are pretty impressive, especially the on the water stuff, interviews, and the high tech video opening of each day. Dusty from Sour Squirrels put together some pretty cool introductions for each day with footage gathered that day. Thanks for the question, it was a good one, and that information will get more visible and again... Have a great day!

Nice switch Steve. That was not in the press release as of last nite. I like the way someone quick changed it and added the payouts, then you say go to AIM site for the info. If it had been there from the begining this would have never came up. All the guy was asking was what the return was for the effort.

Nope, I'm on what is supposed to be a 'working vacation' (work all day, fish all evening) up at Vermilion and was on the road all day yesterday. Never even saw this until last night, and the payouts were there when I looked at the release. No, they were not there the night of the event, when I went in to get them posted, they had pulled our internet readying for the fireworks display.

Brett King headed out on to the Bay of Green Bay this morning with a plan. he said in a morning interview he intended to get his seven in the lower Bay, and stay there until he was comfortable he was going to hold his own against the rest of a very talented field. He was then going to get out into the big water and try to swing for the fence and upgrade with a 30" fish or two.
Brett executed perfectly this morning, and headed out to the big water only to strike out on the big fish bite. Late this afternoon, he headed back into the lower Bay...and upgraded a few of his morning fish!
The weigh in had progressed to the last few anglers, and Brett was holding down the top spot after defeating Robert Blosser's total when the last challenger, Dennis Gulau took the stage. Dennis left the dock this morning in first, in a near dead heat with the top six. It was immediately evident Dennis had not done as well as he had hoped, and when his total came up on the MC Monitor, Tommy Skarlis announced Brett King had won.
The AIM Bay of Green Bay win was Brett King's first major tour win. He took the title pulling cranks under conditions he described as 'not alot of fun' after a major cold front had stirred up the Bay and scattered weeds all along the surface. Brett described the technique in a morning interview with AIM, and talked about the win with AIM this evening.
Robert Blosser ended the tournament in second a couple pounds back, and Dennis Gulau ended in third. Rich Boggs, Chad Schilling, Scott Allen, Jason Przekurat, Todd Riley, Jon Tennessen, and Tom Gatzke rounded out the top ten.

Rich, Here is the press release that was up until it was edited this morning. So don't go by the date on the post. Your right tho, Thanks for Aim staying on top of things and making it look like it was there from the start.
