Hello,
I have a few questions that I can't seem to find answers to. I'm fishing as a co-angler in the tour event next week.
- Is the whole Winnebago system open? Poygan? Rivers?
- Looks like FLW has a rule that you can only have two rods per person, even though in WI you can have three.....am I reading that right? What about sliders?
- Do you find out the pairings at the rules meeting? Do you just exchange contact info with each other at that point?
- Can you weigh a sauger? The bag limit is 1 per day
*** Any other tips for a first time co-angler? I read the rules from the website and realize I may have missed some of the answers to these questiosn, so I apologize if I did.
Thanks!

Pack light. I put everything I needed, rainsuit, lunch etc. into 1 backpack. Pairings are at the meeting. Be on time and helpful. Keep a positive attitude and give 100% the entire tournament. Remember this is a living for some people. They are not looking for a story of your life history. Keep conversations limited and focused on the fishing. Good luck, you will have a blast!

The rules for location only state no locking
No more than two fishing rods with one lure each, or one fishing rod with two lures per angler may be used at a time unless the state or lake limit is more restrictive, in which case the state or lake limit will prevail.
You are correct two lines per person no sliders
You will get your first partner at the rules meeting. The next days partner will be on your weigh in slip after the first day. Or all days will be on the flw website after the rules meeting.
Only walleye, sauger or saugeye are accepted species.
Be sure to show up early for everything. Before the rules meeting most of the pro's are sitting around waiting this is the time to say hi to the guys you want to meet. Don't be shy the guys are all pretty friendly. After the meeting they will clear out pretty quickly they have alot to get ready. Exchange info with your partner and ask any questions that you have. Get a good nights sleep and be ready to go on the morning. The pro may have you back the boat in at the ramp if you are comfortable doing that its no problem if you are not ask the pro to get it as close to the water as he can before you take over. I back in a small boat all the time but some of those boats and the trucks that they pull with make it very different. As far as the day goes the pro will call the shots. If you are trolling some will have you net and some will have you bring in the fish. If you have any question as to how they want anything done ask. It will be a learning experience every one of the guy will do things a little different. Pay attention to everything the little details that escape most people are why these guys are pro's
I'll just add one thing I did not realize the first time I fished a pro-am.
You know to bring a snack and drink for yourself, and your raingear, and the Pro provides all fishing equipment - right. Everyone gets told that, and it's pretty well known, even if it's your first time.
What nobody told me, was it's a good idea to wear that neck strap you have with the clippers, hook sharpener, jig eye buster. I left mine home, and missed it. Bring that neck strap thingy with all the convenience tools, and maybe you even want to put on that belt pouch with a needle nose to unhook fish.
I have no info for your specific questions on Winnabago.

I also am fishing as a coangler at this event.
My past experience is to have some "tip" money available for your pro to help share expenses. Usually $40-50 is normal per day. Pack light, as most pros want a clean deck. Throw a lunch/drinks in if you want.
Now the real question! Who is going to win and how much weight.
My guess is Tom Kemos with 67 pounds for 4 days.
