Trouble starting the motor.

Motor clicks when key is turned.

Starter does not engage.

I used a 12 volt trouble light. Have light when contact on top of solenoid is probed. When touching bottom contact of solenoid the light will turn on when key is engaged.

The light will also turn on when probe touches the bottom contact on the starter amd the key is engaged.

Should I replace the solenoid or have the starter rebuilt?

Hey guys I fixed it.

Replaced the starter after doing some trouble shooting work to see if the problem was the starter or the solenoid.

Started up real good.
