How hard and what do you need to do to replace a prop seal? Merc 70hp about mid 80's motor.
Any special tools or tricks, and do you need to reseal the whole thing and what needs to be removed?

thanks gdi

There is probably two seals and you probably have to pull the bearing housing and you need a special tool to get the the nut or ring off that holds the bearing housing in. Take it to a dealer and have this done and they will also pressure test it also.............

Thanks for the help. I also did a search on the internet and pretty much sounds the same.

I replaced my seals on a F90 yamaha this spring
And it wasn't that hard at all.
Last year I paid 380 bucks to have it done, This year I did it right and it cost me 11 bucks plus the oil

You'll need ***'y drawing
try here http://www.dixiemarinesalesmercury.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/default.aspx
Looks like there easy to get to and it's 11.44 for one and 13.22 for the other
Just note the lip direction when removing the old ones (the mercury drawing doesn't show it)
