battery question

My Merc. 135 opti came with a Mercury labeled battery (don't know the manufacture) 31 series with 900 MCA. It has served me well for 4 years and I'm now replacing it. I know the opti should have 1000MCA so I'm buying an interstate battery with that rating but in a size 27. (they don't make a 31 the sales person said) What's the difference between a 31 and 27 and will I be ok?

You'll be fine. I always thought the 27 Interstate was a 31, it's a horse. You won't need or want any more.

I put the 27M-XHD in my rig this year, upgrading from the 24M-XHD. For the money, that 27 series is a pretty good value, and should provide all the cranking juice you need.

Thanks guys. Don't know much about batteries but this puts my mind at ease. It goes in tomorrow. A Lund Fisherman and not the most convenient palce to work.....laying on my fat belly. :)
