I am looking at buying a 1998 Merc Kicker. The previous owner stated he put in a new impeller. The engine has less than 100 hours on it. I ran the motor last night and the engine does not constantly pee water until it warms up. When the engine is at idle or in neutral it will periodically pee. Then when you put it in gear, then it pees more regularly. The owner stated that this engine was designed this way. It will only pee when it reaches operating temp. When it cools down it doesn't pee constantly. I am used to all engines throwing water all the time. Can anyone confirm what he is saying?
Thanks!
