Anyone know when the small E-tech kicker motors are coming out? I am talking about 10hp or less.

The 15 HP & 9.9 HP E-TEC motors are due to be released in the 2010 model year. However, it could be spring before they are available. The 25 HP & 30 HP's are out now. Very smooth running motors!

The 2010 model year motors are available now with nothing about a 9.9 or 15hp E-Tec. I'd say 2011 if you're lucky.

I can't imagine it would be worthwhile producing such a small DFI engine. There would be no significant weight advantages over a four stroke, and the fourstroke technology is so well proven. It's not like there'd be any hole shot advantage! I can believe Evinrude might buy in and rebadge a four stroke so it would look right next to one of their big engines, but not worthwhile manufacturing an engine nobody's asking for!

I really thought BRP would just use the Rotax for the 9.9/15hp kickers. I guess maybe they are dead set on all E-Tec outboards as I have heard the 9.9/15hp is beyond just "in the works".
