View Full Version : Networking a Lowrance 520c and 522c
Buying a new boat that is coming with a 520c already on the console. Was considering using my current 522c from old boat to use on the bow that will hook to a Minn Kota trolling motor transducer. If I network the two units can I use info off a Navionics chip on both displays? Any way to get exisitng waypoints already on my 522c into the 520c without manually putting them in? Never attempted this "networking" before, all new to me! Any watchouts?

There is no way to share map card data between multiple units ---- you need a map card in the unit you want to view the maps on.
The network will let you share new waypoints that you set but will not pick up old waypoints already in the memory of one of the units.
Best way to transfer waypoints is to transfer them to a blank SD card, then put the SD card in the other unit and load the waypoints to it. Very quick and easy to do.
Thanks Hondo, the SD card transfer I thought was possible, thanks for the confirmation. That's a lot easier than manual input.

When networked (with NMEA 2000) you get an extra option to share waypoints. When adding, changing a waypoint on one unit, it will be visible immediately on the other unit.
Thanks DannyG, that's handy for the waypoints, appreciate the info.
