I am trying to connect my X125 to my Motorguide W75 w/ sonar trolling motor. I know which adapter cable I need to conect to the sonar imput on the graph, but the motor cable also has a pigtail for a power connection. Does the sonar need its own power source? Doesn't the power source for the motor also power the sonar? If I do need to connect this line to power, where is the best place to do it? Can it be tied into an existing line or does it need it's own connection to the battery? Any and all opinions welcome. (and the sooner the better)

I use that for my sonar head unit. just plug it in. The whole system works great.

Which head unit do you use?

The trolling motor and sonar are power separtely. It would be best going straight to the battery for your sonar power. The W75 is a 24 volt trolling motor so don't try to power the sonar with the power from the trolling motor.

I have a x-27. I have powered it through the trolling motor pigtail for the last year. Maybe because it has a built in transducer the pigtail is designed for the sonar. like I said one year zero problems.
