Looking for some feedback from someone wiht experience with a Sportfish 2050 and Suzuki motor.
I am looking at a 2003 Sportfish 2050 and like the boat but not too crazy about the back bench and large deck. It seams too low like the kids could fall out the back of the boat and it takes up a ton of space. Also, you can not access the rear live well with the platform up.
It has a 2001 Suzuki 2 stroke 150 on it, are these good motors? The research I found sounds like there gas hogs?

Thanks in advance,

The older Suzuki two strokes I have been around smoke a lot and are noisy. Any older two stroke will use a lot of gas.
It seams to me that any 150 HP. motor would be a little small for a 20' boat.
What is the maximum hp. rating for that boat?

Max HP is 225. My B-InLaw has a 1950 with a 115 Johnson and she does pretty well at 42MPH (wheel speed). I hear the 150 will push about 47MPH on this boat. My primary concern is more with how the motor performs from an idle, acceleration, fuel consumption and smoke and was hoping someone here had owned one before and could provide me with some good insight.
Many thanks.

Well, got her home and she runs great. For those who thought the 150 was not enough power I would have to say it is. She planes in about 2 seconds and runs 47MPH top speed.... not bad for a 20 footer.
