Has anyone seen or used Lakemaster Maps for computers? http://fishingminnesota.com/lakemap/index.html We were at the Cleveland Sport Show & stopped at there booth. I'm interested in the Lake Erie map. I have a Lowrance LMS 350 & they said I could upload waypoints & routes from the mapping software to my GPS unit. I'm not sure it has the port they were talking about. How do I check? Thanks
Steelie, use your search function in the "general discussion" forum and drop in "LMS350 software and instructions" A great job by REW describing how to specifically adapt waypoint/route planning and the hardware to transfer data to the LMS 350. I have the LMS 350 and the Global Map100 and would like to use software for both. I am also looking at the Lakemaster software as well the Hotmaps. The limited memory for my Global Map 100 limits my choice to one software package. Any experience users out there of each that can help in decision?
I should practice what I preach. In my search, this topic seems well excercised. Looks like the Lakemaster is the way to go. Fewer bugs with the newer operating systems, better detail, and free updates. Can anyone talk me out of the Lakemaster? Thanks

I have both Lake Erie and Lake Ontario maps. They seem to have the most detail out of any I have seen so far. My x-15 is not yet compatable with them but they work great on my computer. I am hoping Lowrance will come out with mmc cards for Lakemaster maps. My mapcreate maps are no where near as good as Lakemaster Maps. Just my .02 cents. Stay with Lakermaster! JJ
I bought the minn. version at the chicago show.great detail on this one than bought the il. version and was disapointed missing alot of bigger lakes and detail notso good find someone with erie and check it-out if it is anything like the minn.version its well worth it

I searched the archives & could not find anything from "REW" on "LMS350 Software & Lakemaster Maps." I just got a reply from an e-mail I sent to Lakemaster saying that it won't interface at this time but it's in the works. I'm surprised because the guy at the Sport Show made it sound like transfering data would work. Thanks for the help.

COM1 same one as Map transfer port, Choos a fast baud rate
But set both the computer and LMS same rate. Turn your internal modem
as disabled it uses COM1 also put your internet on COM2

LMS 350, unit sounds to old to work with mapcreate software,
thought the cables were LMS 1600 and 160 and newer, but if you have a
computer cable for your LMS try to output from lakemaster to your
program that you normally tranfer with, if you don't give
Waypoint a call, maybe they can create a patch.
Steelie,
Just confirmed thread from REW. Look for "LMS350A software and instructions" It is topic #7073

I have the LM Mn. and it work fine with my Garmin eTrex Venture. I use to have Windows 2000 Pro and the program kept locking up on me. I upgraded to windows XP Pro and the LM works fine. They said they were working on the problem but I don't know if they ever fixed it. If you have any problem just e-mail them from there web sight. They are very good about getting back to you.

I have a Word document that explains in great detail how to upload and download GPS coordinates with the LMS-350. I also have a copy of the interface program (WPT.EXE). The problem you may have is that the file the Lakemaster software creates may not be in the format the LMS-350 requires. Usually you can play with the file in a text editor and get it to work, but I doubt that it will be nice and easy. Email me if you want the interface info and software.
