I am looking for advice about purchasing either Garmin 162 GPS unit with seperate Garmin 240 fish finder or buy Garmin GPSmap 168 combination GPS and fish finder. I am also interested in general comments regarding performance of any of these products. I currently have a Garmin 160 fish finder and an old Humming Bird fish finder. I want to replace the Humming Bird and get a GPS system. I am thinking about the Garmin GPS because I like the concept of using Fishing Hot Spots maps.

I think you may want the seperate units. I have the 168 and love the performance but often, I'm looking for a full screen FF and GPS. If you have the room go for the two seperate units. I have been on Garmin's website and noticed that there is a $50 rebate if you buy the 162 or 168 with the FHS CD. Sweet deal! I wish they had that when I bought. hope it helps!
