I'm new here. I have been searching everywhere for info on the 1825 Lund Explorer Sports and this site has the most knowlegeable Lund owners I've seen so far. First off I'm curious about Lunds hull warranty.

I see Lund has a limited lifetime warranty but further research seems to show it's only for the double riveted hull not the entire hull. From what I see the rest of the riveted hull has a 3 year warranty and is prorated for only for 10 years. Is this true? My local dealers wouldn't provide an actual written warranty for me to read.
He just said I'd never have to worry about it. That had me wondering.

I'm looking at a Honda 150 or Yamaha with a 9.9 or T-8 kicker. Getting the boat prerigged for a Honda from Lund is most likely what I'm going to do.

Are there any updated performance tests for this boat with 150's on it? All I can find are older performance reports for the 1800 Explorer. What will this boatdo with a 115 on it? I'm leaning towards the 150 but was just curious about the 115. I know the Honda isn't the fastest out of the hole but I'm not looking for speed.

I'm going to be using the boat for Bass/Trout fishing and Kokanee fishing with Downriggers. I'm not so sure about how the downriggers mounted on the Sportracs will work.

I'm kind of leary about hanging a 500.00 downrigger on the boat like that. could I get away with a single axle trailer like the one shown?

If anyone could address asome of these questions I'd sure appreciate it.

Here's what I'm looking at.

I`m kind of interested in these things myself. I was looking at the 1725 though with a Merc 115 on it but could not find much. I still decided to order one and I will be receiving it in september.
I did decide to go with the white color over the black and looking at that picture I am glad I did. It looks better then I thought.

I knew there had to be someone out there.

Congrats on the new boat.
We are going to look at some Lunds this weekend.
We arrainged for a test ride on the 1825 Explorer Sport with a 150 Verado on it.

The thing that has me worried is the rivets and the lifetime warranty that really isn't. They are really proud of their boats but the warranty doesn't seem to add up to the price and supposed quality of the boat.
I plan on keeping the boat for a long time and I don't want to deal with leaks and prorated warranties and loss of boating time years from now.

I really like the looks of the White Lunds. Nice color choice!!!!

I have an 1800 Explorer with a 115 Yamaha and she will do around 38-40 depending on the people and amount of gas in the boat!! But I love my 4-stroke for trolling and running!! Shes nice and quiet!!

I just recently traded in a 1999 Lund Angler SS 1700 for a new 2008 Pro V SE 1800. I had bought my Angler new in 1999, thus I was the original owner, it did have 2 rivets that were "head-less" and one lose (it would spin) in the bow area, not in the double rivited seam. When I checked earlier this summer the word from Lund was they would reimburse 10% of the cost of the rivet repair since I was the original owner and the boat was 10 years old. Long story short I didn't get the repair done and upgraded to a new boat! So, I think you are understanding the hull warranty correctly.

We got to run the 1825 Explorer with a 150 Verado on it and it's one nice boat. The hole shot was awesome and it seemed like the boat was up on plane in a second. I didn't go WOT but it was getting close to 48 and had more throttle to go.
I think we are going to go with the 2010 explorer instead for the additional room.

Do you think a 150 would push the 2010 ok or is it going to be underpowered? I know it's not going to be quite as quick out of the hole but if it could hit the mid 40's I'd be happy.
