Lowrance has come out with new software updates for the LCX series, and a broadband sounder update as well.

2.4.0 and 2.4.2 beta are no longer listed, 2.5.0 is now posted for both the above units.

Come on .....fine wine gets better with the aging process.......even $$$$ bottles are spoiled:lovit:

Lets see 2.50 beats those Beta ones, this one is not Beta 2.43:boxing:

Have to believe that they are on the right track....as we are the tough testers:bowdown:

This is the official release of the version that deals with shallow water/heavy weed issues experienced with earlier versions. This replaces the interim version (4.2.2 Beta) that addressed these issues for the short term for people having those problems. I just installed it on a 27C and 522i and it went in fine.

It sure would be nice if they would at least go back three years and update the software on those units also; not just last years models. Some of us do not have the money to keep updating units because they will not work correctly unless you buy new ones and then it is where you are taking a chance on if they work correctly or not. Too much sell it before it is tested by the company just to make a buck and then try to fix them at the expense of the fisherman.

Count me out, after nightmares last year I only use my 110 as a stand alone gps unit now, changed brands for my sonar and life is good. Maybe it will all work out fine for folks, but we shouldn't be the testers!

I installed the 2.5.0 version on my 112. Fished with it all weekend, and it worked fine.

I just purchased the 112, it came with version 2.3.0 loaded. I'm running a broad band sounder, and the unit would freeze the scrolling, be non-responsive to key strokes, and then power itself down.

So, the software updates were a step prior to returning the unit for me. I may not have to return it now.

Last weekend I was not running the broad band, rather hooked directly to a transducer. Fished primarily 2.5-5 FOW. It stayed locked, and continued to transmit an accurate depth up to 55 mph, on somewhat rough water.

I installed the 2.5.0 - last weekend, while navigating a shallow channel, I switched the setting to shallow water, and the sonar immediately found the depth and displayed accurately during the 10-12 minutes navigating the channel. Typically, I would just lose bottom in the really shallow water.

I'm still having some issues with my new LCX-112 - but unrelated to the software. I updated the software to see if the issue would be resolved - it has not. I got a RA today for it - 3-4 weeks return time.
