My x15 with the smaller style transducer will show bottom out to about 70ft of water. Anything deeper than that and I loose the bottom echo and will only show the depth. I cannot mark anything deeper that the 70ft as well. Do I need a different transducer or is there something wrong with the one I have?

You should be able to change the depth range on the X15.If you have it set to 40 feet for example, it will only read to that depth. Also, you can change the frequency of the transducer and that may also help. Good luck!

It sounds like operator error,if you can read to 70-check what depth you have or just put it on auto depth-check sensitivity or put it on auto also.Let us no how that works.You should be fine with 200 transducer i doubt if you have a dual frequency-i dont see a need to use the 50 unless you want to see down a 1000 feet.
