I am setting up a new Terrova and need to order the Universal Sonar adapter cable to bridge from the Terrova to my LCX-19. The LCX-19 is not listed under either of the two cable part numbers shown to be compatable with Lowrance units on the Minn Kota web site.
Is it safe to assume that like Lowrance transducers, the Minn Kota US2 cable that runs all the "blue" connector generation units listed will work with the LCX-19 (gray connector)?

Thanks for the help, RJ in Montana

Reeds sports in Walker MN. 800-346-0019 ask for electronics and they will have the answer for you. Wade on this site at jolly ann sales will probably know and have the part you need too!

I have one for sale if you need one for a terrova, http://www.walleyecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155437

Call wade and see if this is the one that will work, you'll be able to save a couple bucks, this one is brand new never used in package.

K, is that a us2-9 or a us2-10? the reason I ask is that the Lowrance models shown on the package match the comaptable units listed on Minn Kota's website for the us2-10 cable. I attached a link to Minn Kotas chart as an example..

I wrote down 9 when I made the post, I took a picture of the box, the 19 isn't on there but other models with the same connectors are so I would assume it will work. Click on my link and then the picture in my post.

I did that initially, thats why I wanted to double check the part number on the packaging as it seems to be in contradiction to what Minn Kota shows on their chart I posted the link to? Just double checking so I don't waste either of our time.

I sorry to tell you, but Minnkota does not make a US-2 adaptor cable for the LCX 19c. I know this because I beta tested for Minnkota when they were first introducing the US-2 to the market.

Actually I believe there are 3 or 4 models that are not compatible with the US-2. I own both a LCX 19c and a LCX 104c neither of which is compatible with the US-2.

Having said that, I currently run a Terrova with US-2 connected to my LCX 19c. Minnkota originally built a special adaptor cable for me while I was testing. During that time it was discovered that there were several problems with using US-2 with those LCX units. Most problems were related to the temp sense portion.

Minnkota does not support US-2 with those Lowrance units because of the complex system that Lowrance used for the temp senders. Later Lowrance units went back to using a simple thermistor for temp sending like the earlier units (X15mt’s).

So if you find an adaptor that will work, you will not get a temp reading and you will only be able to use the 200 kHz portion of the transducer.

I have been using my LCX 19c in that configuration for 2 ˝ years. You will love the detail of the new US-2.
Check with your local service center as there is a “back door work around” to allow you to use your LCX 19c in the same configuration as I am. If you can’t get this to work, I can find out what cable to use, but I will have very limited access to internet until October. So …please be patient if I am gone. If you can’t get what you need, post again and I will get an answer from the Minnkota engineers.

Thanks JAK for the feedback. I kind of figured the "blue" connector generation cable (us2-10) would give me sonar, I was hoping one or the other (us2-9) would allow for temp as well even though neither are spec'd in the charts. If not, its not the end of the world.. Sounds like maybe either one, the -9 or the -10, will give me sonar read and thats most important.
