Is this a decent rod for the price? I've been looking at the combo price in cabelas for the gl2/reel for about 158.00.
thoughts appreciated.
We know that that rod - normally sells for 120-130 depending on source and model.
So, the question is -- what reel is on the combo. If you would have to pay more than 30 for the reel - then you are getting a bit of a discount. If you only have a 30 reel on the package - you are basically paying full retail for the package.

These are great combos for the money your saving about 50 bucks. GL2 is a great rod can't go wrong spending money on a GLoomis.

Not sure Dave...If anyone is near a Galyan's I was there Saturday and they had all GLoomis GL2 rods at 25% off. This was at the Galyan's in Marketplace Mall in Henrietta (near Rochester, NY)
