I have really wanted to upgrade my locators for a couple years now and after months of trying to decide on Lowrance HDS 8 ( and waiting on thier SI) and the Humminbird 997 SI (and hearing that the 997 will be replaced with and upgraded model next spring???), I decided to go with the Bird 778 CI for now. I'll get a proven unit that is heads about my old units and next spring I'll decide on which SI and move the the 778 to the bow. I now have part of what I wanted and I hope soon this headache goes away!!!!!!!!
