Can't help with the LCG4000 issue but this is the second HD unit I have heard of letting water in. A friend of mine in Oregon bought an HDS7 this spring and had to return it when it let water in and shut down.. Any idea where the water is getting in from?

There were bad gaskets on some HDS units, as soon as you mention water problems to Lowrance they will replace your HDS with a new one.

The lgc not responding message indicates a power problem. Check to see if the in-line fuse that powers the network blew when your HDS went haywire --- if that doesn't work then pressure Lowrance to send you a new one based on it not working after the water problems with your hds.

Hondo, do you know if the units with faulty gaskets can be identified any way? Serial number series or anything like that? My tourney partner just bought two HDS8's...Didn't know if Lowrance had pinned down a time frame or serial identity of units impacted by this issue...

Thanks for the help..RJ

No way to identify them that I know of. From what I heard it was on the very first production runs, from what I can tell those units have probably worked their way to consumers and back to Lowrance by now????
