Hoping that someone has an updated MinnKota Universal Sonar 1 chart. My MinnKota is a 2005 model. I would like to either buy an HDS 5 for the bow and hook up to US1 on my PowerDrive. Or, perhaps better yet buy an adapter cable to hook my Lowrance X-50DS and use on the bow.
If anyone knows which adapter would work for either unit, please reply. Thanks!

You need the blue connector MKR-US-5

Thanks, is that for the HDS series or the X-50ds?

For your X-50DS, it should work with Universal Sonar with cable number MKR-US-9.
For an HDS, Minn Kota's official word is that they haven't tried HDS with Universal Sonar version 1 so they don't know if it will work or not. If you want to try it, the cable to use is MKR-US-5. My best guess is that it will probably work, but you might run into some potential headaches like having interference, or not having temperature, etc. I don't know of anyone who has tried an HDS with Universal Sonar version 1 so unfortunately I can't give you a better answer.

You definately won't have temp, because the universal sonar 1 does not have a temp probe in it. It will work, the HDS uses the same transducer as the models listed as compatible with the MKR-US-5 cable.
