I think your issues are due to your transducer mounting and/or boat wiring. It sure looks to me like what's going on with the display is caused by cavitation or air bubbles over the face of the transducer. It could also be electrical interference too from somewhere else in your boat.
And, I saw in another post that you lose your reading over 10 mph --- that is a sure sign of a bad transducer mount.
I'd suggest changing or tweaking your transducer mount to see if that cleans it up, maybe also try to move some of your wiring to see if you can clean up some electrical interference. Hopefully that will cure the problems you're having.

The transducer is in the same bracket as the old one and worked good last year. I've tried all the angles and not much difference. It will show/read the actual depth but not display the bottom. I can be sitting still and and get 10 different readings and displays in 15 minutes. The voltage reading never fluctuates. I have been using Lowrances for years and never had problems like this. Lowrance still has not gotten back to me yet either. I guess what the dealers complain about Lowrance is true............

Replace your transducer.
Or, if you want to experiment, put your head unit on another boat with a good Lowrance transducer installed and check it. Then you will know if you need to replace your transducer.
By your description above, it's the transducer. Turn off everything electrical in the boat except the Lowrance unit and let the boat drift. Set the unit to Automatic Sensitivity. If it's still acting up, 99% it's the transducer...
