My son and I are fishing the river for the next 4 days what can you tell us.
If the walleye fishing gets slow can you recommend any panfish or pike and musky location. Please be specific about where the location is. We are launching from Erie Metropark.
If your going to be there and would like to chat, I have a cream and green Starcraft Pro Elite with a Johnson 150 Ocean Runner (white motor).
Thanks,
Randy

That will be very busy for the next wk, plus they charge more
on weekends, Go up to Elizabeth, waters deeper and you wont
have motor troubles trying to run the big engine in the
shallow water, fellas had motor trouble, overheating there engines
plugged up there intakes.

Elizabeth Park doesn't open until April 1st. Up river is Wyandotte Municiple Ramp. Be careful going to erie metropark if the winds are out of the west, shallow water. I'll be out there tomorrow afternoon and friday morning, I have a pro-v Lund 2025 w/225opti and a 15 hp kicker hanging on the back, I'll keep an 'eye' out for you. My boat is white.

Is this normal or just this year, they were open before the 1st
of April last year?

If the walleye are slow, go over by the cross-dike (large rock wall that blocks the current) just east of Sugar Island near the S.E. tip of Grosse Ile. Good perch fishing can be had there, and you're sure to catch a bunch of pike while you're at it. Most of the pike are small, but you'll see the occasional big one. Take a map if you don't have a Canadian license, because the border runs right through there.
I'll be there Saturday either in a 17' Blue Pro-V, or a white 14 footer (if the water is low at the launch).

Homer,
Are you fishing the DWF tourny sat?
Whitetips,
I called the Wayne County Sheriffs Marine Division a couple of weeks ago and was told that the ramps wouldn't open until April 1st. No reason was given as to why. But it will be a madhouse when it does open on the 1st the RCL tourny starts the following wed. April 3rd thru the 6th, there will be a lot of prefishing going on.

Elizabeth Park opened early last year because they were the launch site for the PWT tourny.
