Help, my SS prop was stolen this week north of Detroit Lakes MN
It was on a 690 Ranger w/150EFI 4 blade tempest
14.5 X 21 or 23. What would you guys recomend for a replacement? Looking for something ASAP, Thanks
Whatever you buy, if it is SS you should spray paint it white. That shiny SS look attracts theives. I've got a lot of buddies that spray paint their props white to avoid theft. If they think it is just a steal prop, they will walk by and steal the next shiny one.
Are you looking for a Tempest or a Trophy prop? The tempest is a 3 blade and the trophy is a 4 blade. I have a 21 pitch trophy that I don't use and could sell if you are interested.

How about a prop lock....about $35.00 can not take off without special adapter! Spray painting Alum and it stays on all summer?????
Over thinking the problem!

Couldn't any prop thief go out and invest the $35 and get the adapter too.

No, the prop lock is unique to each lock...own part number and teeth arrangement...if this wasn't the case they would not sell many...just one and everyone would have the same adapter....probably not good for business.
Excellent thought though, really? You should paint your prop white!!!

Mcguard prop lock is only good for 50 ftlb torque and mercury recommends 100 ft lbs torque with flo thru hub
