I have used the smoke color for years but I was just wondering what the verdict was on the bright colors of any line. As I am getting older that smoke is ##### hard to see. Any help is appreciated.

flame fireline is awsome for all applications of fishing.
One application for the flame green is for pitching cranks or jigs. The bright line allows the fisherman to see the bite sooner than feeling it. Many times while pitching the line will "jump" indicating a fish.
Eyes,
Send me your email address and I'll send you a pic of the fish I catch with the Green Fire in clear water.

Agree with all the above. I used it for the first time last year and had the best year I can remember. I did use a 2' flouro leader but I'm 'gonna try without this year, don't think it will make a difference throwing cranks. Try some, you'll like it !
Geno,
I did the leader thing and it just became a pain in the keester. I was casting no leader fire and caught a lunker last week.
Not paranoid,

BRS1....Good to hear it worked for you less the leader and CONGRATS on the big one ! How did you do it, cranks, jigs ? Go ahead and brag a little, you deserve it !

There are always exceptions to the rule, but in general SEEING your line is very important when jigging. If you think it is causing problems you can always add a leader. You will see a lot of bright line used by many of the circuit pro's on the PWT and RCL.

With out a doubt the best move I have made fishing in the last two years . Green Yellow Fireline, what ever you call it is great no leader tie it right to the jig . I have been killing the eyes this year with it .

I used to use just the smoke line as well. I switched to the flame green line and found it makes no difference to the fish. It does help me quite a bit when pitching jigs as on a low or no wind day I can litterally sense the strike by watching the line prior to feeling it. Also I suggest tying your jig straight to the fireline and skip all that mono leader stuff. The one thing I found is that must be done with no leader is to play the fish with very loose drag. I like using the Shimano rear fighting drag systems with an instant ability to decrease the drag 25% by a flip of the lever. Glad I came to the board as the wind is blowing to hard outside to fish and the next best thing is to talk fishing.

What's the best knot to use when tieing to the jig.

I use the both the polimar(sp?) and the trilene knot. With each knot I leave a small tag unlike mono.
