I recently bought a boat that has a Minn Kota Powerdrive with autopilot and copilot. When I am using the autopilot and the motor is on constant, it seems the copilot won't work? I push the bottons and hear it beep, but it won't adjust the steering. If I put the motor on the MON setting, the copilot will steer. Any ideas?

Here are my notes from when I ran a Co-Pilot.
Co-pilot will not work if foot pedal is “constant on”. Must be “momentary on”. Co-pilot chirps once if command is accepted. It chirps 3 times if it is not accepted. Press the prop symbol – unit chirps once -- to activate the prop and then press the +/- as needed for prop speed. Pressing the prop symbol again - the unit chirps twice - shuts the prop off.

So a copilot won't work when you are trolling along with the autopilot on and want to adjust your course?? That doesn't seem right?

when my auto pilot is on I can still adjust course with the copilot

Never checked that function myself. I know the propeller functions didn't work (start prop/stop prop, increase speed, decrease speed) on mine. Never tried the turn. When I used the foot pedal I used it for all the functions.

Rebs, this is what mine doesn't seem to do. It beeps when I press the buttons, but nothing happens. Anyone have an idea as to what's causing this?

On the foot pedal, turn the "constant" switch off, or to MOM.

It sounds to me like your trying to use your co-pilot while your controling your motor with the foot pedal. The co-pilot will not override the foot pedal and vice versa. Use one or the other to control both speed and direction of motor. Your co-pilot can be used in conjunction with the AP feature but the co-pilot will control nothing if your foot pedal CON is on(or your depressing the power pad in MOM setting) and a speed setting is selected with the slide bar.

Thank you, that answered my question. I didn't realize you could only use one or the other.
