I just got my atlas TH marine hydro jackplate with 6" offset installed on my 1900 pro v. With no other changes I gained 2 1/2 mph over my original set up. I have been running at 5300 rpm during the summer months on my 21 tempest topping out at 51 mph. with the jack plate set at the lowest level (not run up vertically at all) I gained 1 mph. when I raise the plate just before blow out I gained another 1 1/2 mph. So what everyone said was true about only gaining 1 to 2 mph. BUT what I noticed was my rpms went through the roof at the best it would run I was hitting the rev limiter 6000 rpms. I have been talking to John at DAH prop about getting a blue printed prop. I told him what I was doing with the jack plate and I'm also adding a phase kit to get another 45 hp to my 200 hpdi Yammi. He was very helpful and told me I was probably going to have to go up in pitch after the jackplate and hp increase. I am definitely going to need a higher pitch prop. The jack plate itself really improved the ride in the boat no porpoising at all and I was able to put the prop all the way down for a supper quick hole shot and when the wind picked up (20 mph this morning) all in all I was quite pleased with it and I am excited to see what it will do when I add the right prop and phase kit (which goes in this week). I did install a water pressure gauge with the jack plate to be safe.

So, seeing as you're hitting the rev limiter, there may be another MPH left yet without modifications. Those who don't think 2-4 MPH is worth it just don't want to go as fast as their boat will allow. I look forward to your future reports.

Dakota,
Any issues with the jackplate interfering with steering components? I tried a 4" fixed TH Marine on my Mertens Titan equipped 75 Opti, and the hydraulic cylinder was hitting the transom. How is yours set-up, steering wise? Pics?

No problems at all. I have a t8 kicker hooked up to my big motor and I steer it at the helm. We had to replace the connecting rod with one a little longer one to compensate for the 6" offset. i was worried about my wave wackers but I didn't have modify them either. I opted for the new Atlas hydro jackplate, it is a little different than the hydro jacker by TH marine. the cylinder is in between the transom bracket and the motor bracket. I couldn't imagine how it could interfere with controls. I went with the Atlas because of it's quick movement and that seemed to be a big deal with the bass forums that I checked (they run them more than us walleye guys) and I understand it now, the faster the response the quicker you get to the sweet spot. I will try and post some pics when I get my boat back at the end of the week. I'm dropping it off in the morning so they can install my Hydro Tec phase II performance kit.

I had a 6" jack on my 1800 pro-v and loved it. I snapped my transom supports once from the extra leverage of the jack.

Were are you getting the Hydro Tec phase II performance kit installed at? I have a 250 HPDI and was thinking of getting one,

Brian

My local lund dealer is going to do the install for me. According to hydro tec any shop who has tore down a motor can install the kits. All you are doing is replacing parts no tuning involved and no break in period. They were suppose to do it this week but they didn't get it done (sick mechanic) so I have to wait tell next week. I did get a M series 23pitch prop to try this weekend with my new found RPMs from the jackplate.

It took a lot longer than I expected but I finally got my phase kit installed and running well. All I can say is WOW! my yami has come alive. I have a considerable gain in all areas, hole shot, midrange and top end. I am running 56 mph with a 23p pro series prop that I am running at 6000 rpms, I think I may need to prop up again before I send it out to DAH prop for blue printing. All in all I am really pleased with what I've gained and I am excited to see what the right prop will get me for top end.
