I am going to mount a transducer on my trolling motor, but have never done nor seen one before. I bought the transducer bracket today, but just wondering if there are any tricks to the wiring (i.e. should I leave a lot of slack in the wiring, should I cut and splice the wire, etc.). Any advice would help.

Thanks in advance.

Keep the transducer cable as tight as possible to the shaft. Use plastic ties and/or electrical tape. Leave some slack in the cable at the very top. Do not cut the cable, as it can be very tricky to reconnect, depending on the type. Hope this helps.

I also ran my depth finder from a seperate battery, cuts down on any motor running interferience. Hope this helps good luck.
