I may be taking a job transfer to Green River, Wyoming and was wondering if anyone know's anything about fishing Flaming George Reservoir? Thanks

It used to produce record class Brown trout.
Although it still produces some Browns, it has morphed into a good Lake trout fishery. Also has Kokanee salmon, Rainbows, and now I hear that there are smallmouth bass in it, too.
I'd contact WY fish and game.
From what I know...a lot of the fishing is on the Utah side of the border....?
Sorry if this is kind of old news.

I have fished Flaming Gorge for the past 5 or 6 years, always in late June and our target is kokanee salmon. You'll need downriggers or lead line since they hover around 60' at that time of the year. It is great fun and they are excellent to eat. We've tried for lakers also, but not very vigorously. Also catch a few rainbow and smallies. It's a beautiful body of water to fish and recreate, very deep and cold.

Seminoe isn't too far away either. It's a great walleye lake with very little fishing pressure.

Very Very good kokanee fishing on wy side and prettier Utah side. I know over at Kokanee fishing forums guys head over from CA lol just to catch them. If you have a boat you will be set, lund tyee or fisherman would be perfect. I have'nt really fished much WY side but im told its even better than Utah side. Excellent trout, kokanee, monster lake trout world record size, there's also smaller bass some giant catfish, cuthrout trout, browniess.

I have been fishing the Gorge for the last 25 years. I have family in Green River and Rock Springs both. When my kids were smaller we were there quite a bit. Now I only get there 4 or 5 times a year. There are some quality fish in there as far as the trout family goes but there are also enormous catfish and a big smallmouth bass population as well. I like that area and the nice thing is we have been there many times on the holiday weekends and there is always a place to camp and you won't get runover by jetskis or pleasure boaters. Every now and again there can be quite a crowd of boats just outside the marina areas but they spread out pretty quick.
There is plenty of hunting and shooting opportunities around there to if that interests you.
