In an attempt to salvage a new tournament that was scheduled for the spring of 2010, before bringing it back up to the city I need to know if the participation would be there. The tournament would be in Wisconsin and camping accommodations along with one meal a day would be included.
Would there be interest with 100 fishermen (50 boats) $250 per fisherman with payouts as follows:
10,000
3,500
2,000
1,000
800
700
650

With those kind of payouts, you may have the boats you need. Very good payout for the first few teams, and not paying out to far back and diluting the pool.
I'd like to know when and where.
A lot depends on the waters being fished, the kind of bite expected, if there is a tough slot, other conflicts, etc....

Just like the rest of the guys, where, when, etc. I'd certainly give it a look for that kind of payout.

Buffalo Lake, Wisconsin would be the area and the plan was to have it in May of 2010. It was going to be ran in conjunction with a festival called MooseFest. If there is interest I was going to start putting it together next month.
If your tourney is at any decent or well known water at a decent time of year when the bite is fair, you should have no problem getting 50 boats to show up for a $10,000 guaranteed purse which I am assuming you are implying. Get the word out early before the other tourneys get anounced and get first billing in peoples minds, guarantee the purse on a full field of 50 boats and choose your dates carefully to not compete with national holidays and you'll exceed your expectations.

My initial thought is that it is not widely know as a walleye lake and it is known as a very weedy lake.
I do not know if the location would attract the numer of boaters you seek.
Take care,
