Leadcore Question

I know that some people troll Leadcore line together with side planers.
But does anyone know if leadcore line can be trolled together with a
diver, such as a dispsey or walker deep diver on the leader?

Same question put differently - How do you guys who troll leadcore
get your bait down to to 60 or 70ft? Troll double core? Add weights?

Here is some info from the attheoak.com site (popular lake O salmon site). Running snap weights with leadcore to get deeper. LOTS of good info on fishing deep and how to do it with leadcore on the tips page scroll down till you find it. You DON'T want to troll divers off leadcore by the way, it's not it's intention whatsoever.

One tip that I can give about running leadcore and learning this the hard way is, make sure you run all of the leacore out past your rod tip. If you dont the nylon coating crystalizes by rubbing on the rod tip and will break. We had this happen twice before we relized what was happening while fishing salmon tournys. on Lk. MI. in the early days. It's ideal if you have multiple setups 2 color, 3 color, 5 color, 7 color, 10 color. That way you run all of your core out before you even clip your board on. The less you kink or rub things on your leadcore the better.

I seldom run more than 6 color set ups. If I need to get deeper I add a snap weight. I attach weight right to core after 4 colors. Adding 4 oz will have you real close to the 60' and I have pulled that set up on off shore boards but dont think it would handle much more.

As far as the other post about wearing core with it still in the guides... try segmenting in a short 3-5' leader between all your colors.

I've been getting down past 50ft by trolling very deep diving
lures like the tail dancer II and that has been working for me.
