I have on a set of Dunlap radial rovers. They have lasted me for quite a while now. They have a somewhat aggressive tread that works good in the winter and runs in the summer.
Just an idea!

I dont have them, but the two people I know that do have the goodyear AWT's really speak highly of them. And coincidentaly, they have the same truck as yours.
I will put them on my truck next time.

I have Michelins on my Silverado, and they are incredible. Wear like iron, smooth/quiet rolling, and well built.

Ive' got a set of BF Goodrich All Terrains on my truck. Over 57,000 miles and they still have about half the tread left. Great traction in snow, a little noisey (but nowhere near the noise of Goodyear Wrangler TD's!)

Take a good look at "Cooper tires", I researched a bit prior to buying for my 4x4 1/2 ton Chevy. Cooper seems to get good grades for wear, traction and they cost less than many of the better known brands. Plus they look a little mean with that agressive tread design.

Good Luck

Consumer Reports had a light truck/SUV tire test recently. If memory serves, the top-rated on-road tire was the Toyo Open Country, the top off-road was a Hancook. I have a rural relative who swears bys the Hancook, doesn't even complain about tire noise on the highway. Hancooks are a Korean tire, and less expensive than most.

Have to agree with blacksilver. Spend the extra cash and get the best. Better ride, tough, and twice the miles you get out of any other tire. Ron

I second the Michelins. Darn good tires, quiet ride, and great wear.

Switched to Michelin LTX M/S from Goodyear on my GMC K1500. Love them, great ride, handle snow & ice as well as off-road & mud. Very little road noise on highway, & have been wearing well. I have used Michelin in the past with same results & no problems on both trucks & cars. Worth the little extra they cost.

I got convinced when Michelins came on a 93 Chev Lumina I bought for my wife. She drove it for years, gave it to my daughter who drove it for more years, and now my grand-daughter is driving it. The original rear tires are still on it at 161,000 miles, and look like they'll outlast the car.

Super Swamper radial SSR !!! Great tires !!!! great unidirectional tread pattern. Excellent traction. But to take advantage of them you really should get a lift kit, quick discos, and go with at least 33 x 12.50. Since you are doing that, you better get a winch and a high lift jack. No point in doing all this and not ugrading the diff and transfer case.

Meet you on the trail :0)
