No way this is 10 lbs.
Buddy, you don't know the size of the gentlemen holding that fish, so no perspective, he could be 6-4 and 290lbs , so let's step off... I look at my pics in the big fish contest and they all look small when i'm holding them
( 6'1" 320 ) pics where my friends are holding fish they look big. :whip:

I agree. Some photos are very hard to tell.
Here's an example. Despite what it looks in the photo, this is a 27.5 lb salmon we caught this last August. Weighed on 3 different scales, all within .1 lbs of each other. Sure don't look it in the photo, but I bet my business reputation on it. She'll be on the wall for all to see soon.

I caught a 29 3/4", 10.2 lb last April,(rainy river), weighed on a bocca and Rapala digital. The bocca put it a hair under 10, the digital at 10.2...so I use 10.2 :D. Beautiful fish, those in the boat know how big it was. I look at the pics and it looks like a healthy, run of the mill 26". The gut that was full of spawn, impressive, the pics you can't tell. It sucks, the pictures don't do the fish justice.

Here are a couple of pics of the same fish. It was 19". You wouldn't know it by looking at the first pic.

I wouldn't doubt that fish going 10-9 even if the guy is a fisherman.
Hehe - now if ya wanna question a picture this one resulted some funny posts in the General Discussion forum some yrs ago:

And if you want to check out a pretty decent fish, look at the last Lake Tobin picture in the 10 lb club.

Who cares - nice fish. The guy just needs to learn to hold his arms way out when taking pictures of fish. As someone said, we all know that fishermen don't exaggerate. We also all know what 6 inches looks like, right?

Looking at the hands in relation to the fish ....., I'll guess #3...?
I'll take #2. Can't say #3 as fisherman never agree on anything (LOL).

The first 3 Fish were within 4 oz of each other at 6lb 10oz to 7lb 2oz.
The last fish was 8 lb on the button.
All were weighed with the same Rapala Digital Scale, zeroed before each was weighed.
BTW, The guy in the 3rd pic is 5'4" and weighs about 130 lb.
I am 6'2" and weigh about 245 lb.

He's claiming 8 lbs. I could believe the original fish I posted about is 8 lbs by the look of the gut and this dudes fish looks even smaller.
Are you guys sure you didn't buy a metric scale off of ebay and you're reading grams? LOL

Exactly, camera angle, distance, how the fish is held and size of person holding it all make a difference imho.
Laying the fish next to a ruler might help but doesn't show the fisherman/woman/whatever that caught it, maybe posting two pictures ought to be required?? :)

Ain't commenting one way or the other about the picture under review. Got some info about cameras and how they can be used to make fish look bigger.
Focal length on the camera lens makes a huge difference. A wide angle setting will make the fish appear to be bigger cuz you can get closer to the fish/person. A telephoto lens typically requires the camera to object distance to be further.
The image size then becomes a matter of ratios: Camera to fish and fish to person holding the fish. With a wide angle lens the ratio can be as low as 1 to 1. With a telephoto, that ratio will ususally be 3 or 4 to one with a smaller field of view.... (Camera to fish/fish to person)
Fishing Shows always use wide angle lenses to make the fish seem bigger.....

Naw, they were just caught on a Stange swim bait....:)
Nothing like a 4 foot bass to perk sales or impress your buddies...least they look like there 4 foot in the picture..
Al...who's gonna take up photography to make his fish bigger.

Im with ya on that one, photo doesnt make the fish look spawned out. Also look at the hands even if hes 6'7" that doesnt equal a 30+" eye. I guess I am one of the honest fisherman cause my walleye in this photo was 30" and was only 6lbs
How big does this fish in my 100qt cooler look to you????
Also what about the 3rd pic???

I'll go with the cooler fish being 5 pounds and the third pic fish is only 4 pounds. :)
