Picked up some sufix elite mono for some spinning reels (8lb) for lindy rigging and a spool of seige in 10lb for a baitcaster and casting crankbaits. Have'nt had a chance to spool them yet but was wondering what experiance and opinions you guys had of sufix MONO. I have had some of their performance braid on for deep water jigging (28'-45') the river in heavy current and it works very well.

Just put on Suffix Siege 8lb, not exactly what you have but as I understand Eliete is a little stiffer and abrasion resistant.

Anyways, I really like Siege. It's very limp, lays well on the spool and casts as far as I cared to do.

I had P-Line 100% floru on before hand and it was awful to cast on a small spinning outfit. Great for leaders though.

This was all on a shimano saro/ st croix prm ML.

Give it a try!

Thanks for the info. I bought three new Shimano Saros 2500F's for $75 each from gander mountain during a sale and three fenwick HMG's (1-7'ML for rigging, 1-6'6"M for jigging and 1-7'med for bottom bouncers) for the reels. They seem like really nice combos. I am spooling them with various lines and diameters for various conditions and found a god deal on sufix mono and wanted to give it a try.

I haven't used Suffix lines in freshwater but have used them surf casting in the ocean --- the surf casters generally regard Suffix as very good line.

I recently spooled up a reel with 10Lb Sufix elite clear and so far it's been great. I got it on a 7' medium rod and have had great luck cast and retrieving 1/4 oz jig heads with 3" grubs in the river. I just bought a spool of their 4LB. Wally World might be closing it out because I got it 50% off.

I found sufix line to have way too much memory for steelheading in colder water. I won't buy it again.
