MinnKota AP/PD mixing

I have a 74# PD with US1 built in transducer and I also have a 74# AP without US1 transducer. Both same year and all specs identical. I will be using one of these motors on my jet sled now that I upgraded to a Terrova on my tourney boat. My question is this: is it possible to take the top end of the AP and set it up on the shaft of the PD to wind up with an AP with US1? The AP feature is a great tool for river fishing but I really like the built in transducer for shallow rocky water as well. I don't want to canabalize either motor to do this as they are both in great working condition, but if this is a simple cross over task and can keep both motors working normal after the project and simply wind up with one motor with the best of both worlds features, I would like to consider this. Any ideas if this is do-able or not?
