hi all,
i have a bottom line graph. tournament leader SF3 sidefinder.
My question is i do not know how old it is, came with the used boat i bought. what happens is. in shallow water the screen gets all green and always reads 1 ft. sometimes it shows pictures of fish at a certain depth, others black square dots, i think these are fish.I do not know if the transducer is going or what. Is this graph worth keeping? I would like to follow weed lines, but i do not think i can tell with this graph.. is it a lower cheaper model? or do bottomline graphs just suck. any other recomendations on a different brand. or should i just work with this one..there also is a black line down the middle of the screen. it shows speed and surface temp. thanks for any input.

I had 2 bottumlines/sidefinders, they both were great when they worked, but a little moisture and the screen steamed up and they did weird things like yours. I'll not go there again. Humminbird has a new one, Piranha 5, with 54 degree transducer, should work in shallow water, and cheap too.

Post the question at their site. It does take time for them to get around to the questions, so you might also want to email the techs.
