Took a look at both of these big tubs at the boat show. Although im not in the market for a new boat yet i think one of these could be on the list when i am ready to buy. Both seemed to be decent boats for great lakes fishing.
If you were going to get one what one would you go for? and why? Both are powered similar with 350Mag MPI inboards. And the Sport Craft is wider and longer yet alot lighter than the Baha.

My buddy has a Baha 278 with a 454 inboard, I have a Sportcraft 270 with the 350 engine. We switch back and forth every other trip so I have a lot of time in his boat as well as mine. The Baha is heavier so it seem to cut the waves well and is a deeper boat then mine. Other than that the Sportcraft uses at least 1/3 less fuel, handles very well and rides the top of the waves better. I may be influneced by what I own, but the Sportcraft is a better boat for less money.

Construction of both boats are second rate, exposed wood in stringers transoms, bulkheads etc.. Fiberglass are blown by chop guns leaving air pockets to blemish/crack finish in only a few years.

I would pick the Sportcraft over the Baha they are built a little better. 1-5 YEAR OLD MODELS ARE FOR SALE EVERYWHEREE. $AVE A TON AND BUY A USED ONE.................

I would agree with a couple of things said so far. Yes, buy a used one. There should be plenty available with the way fishing on Erie has been the last couple of years.

I own a 23' Proline and fish Erie. I have been aboard both a Baha and a Sportcraft. I like the ride of the Sportcraft better and I agree the Baha I was in was a gas hog. I'm not sure what engine it had. I just know that after two trips I didn't want to go anymore. We would split the cost of gas among those on board. I was amazed at how much more gas the Baha used.
